Woolston & District B C Have 3 members playing this week end at Atherley (12/13/09/26) in the S & D finals. Miles plays in the semi of the Champion of champions @ 10.00. Pete plays in the semi of the Vet singles @ 10.00. Matty plays on Sunday in the under 25 championship @ 10.00.
Floodlit League Gets Underway at Woolston & SO19
The lights are on, the music is playing and the bowls are rolling as the new Floodlit League at Woolston & SO19 gets underway.
Designed to extend the season and bring a different atmosphere to competitive bowls, the league combines social bowls, music and high-level competition under the floodlights, giving players the chance to keep playing long after the traditional summer season begins to wind down.
Played on Woolston & SO19’s superb green — proudly regarded by the club as the best green in Hampshire — the competition offers something a little different: competitive bowls in a relaxed, lively setting, with prize money up for grabs along the way.
With the floodlights shining and the music providing the soundtrack, it is shaping up to be a fantastic way to finish the summer and keep the bowls going for that little bit longer.
