Dear Members, 
Like many other people I first joined W&DBC as a social member. During that period, I would watch matches from the comfort of a spectator’s seat whilst enjoying a beer. it wasn’t long however before I got the itch to have a go and was invited to have a roll up; and the rest they say is history. But back then as a fledgling bowler I never imagined that one day I would become president.

Not wishing to repeat the sentiments of past Presidents, but it truly is a huge privilege to be asked to be President of this great club, which holds such a rich history of talent and character, I only hope I can do justice to all the great presidents who have gone before me. 

Over the past 3 years we have experienced something never before seen in any of our lifetimes. A small but dedicated group of volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep this great club afloat. I do no believe the club would have survived as it has without that commitment. 

We must now draw a line under the pandemic and move forward together as a club. Last year saw us obtain promotion to Championship 2, so lets build on that achievement and put Woolston back on the map as a top club in the bowling world. 

My tour this year is to Warwickshire where I’ve secured matches at some top venues, so please support the tour, for what I believe will be a weekend to remember. 

My charity this year is something dear to my heart and is ‘Victims Support’ which provided incredible help and support to the victims of crime. 

Finally, I would like to thank my wife Shelia, who has done so much for the club and who has given me so much support.
